Ringo Lam

Hong Kong born director, and scriptwriter Ringo Lam's foray into film began studying at York University Film School in Toronto.

Lam made his mark on the industry creating gritty, action packed thrillers, most notably the 1987 film City On Fire, which directly inspired the American director Quentin Tarantino's feature film debut Reservoir Dogs. Lam followed up on his success with such films as Prison On Fire and School On Fire.

In 1996, Lam began what would become a long standing working relationship with action star Jean-Claude Van Damme, directing his films Maximum Risk, Replicant, In Hell and Wake Of Death.
